Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Jeff B — 29 May 2010
It's been years since I saw this, so I figured I'd check it out again. While I love David Lean, this isn't as great as his other films. It's still a great, epic film, but it doesn't have the same excitement or pace as his other epics.
The whole cast is excellent and the sets, costumes, and cinematography are amazing. And of coure that classic score really helps make the film. I think the first half is much better than the second half, it got pretty slow when they got off the train and I felt it wasn't as good.
Regardless, it's still a very impressive film.
