Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Fred T — 05 May 2008
Another David Lean epic, this time set against the backdrop of the Russian Revolution. Its a fair plot, with Omar Sharif fitting the tragic hero mould to a tee. Great supporting cast of Julie Christie (at her most beautiful), Alec Guinness and Tom Courtenay.
Freddie Young again does a fantastic job as cinematographer, supported by an uncredited Nicholas Roeg (five years before he made his directorial debut).
