A wonderful love story set in the background of the the Russian Revolution. Great chemistry between Omar Sharif and Julie Christie. This was one of Julie Christie's best performances but she did not overshadow Sharif or anyone else, which was excellent.
Sure it is very long and drawn out, but every scene in the three plus hours is important. The ending was sad but also very good as well. This film definitely did its best to stay with the Pasternak novel.
One of my favorite films of all time. If you love Russian history or all things Russian, watch this film.
