Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Thomas M — 14 Oct 2010
I have been told that this is one of the greatest movies of all time, yet I found it too be overly long and kind of hard to follow in parts. I think it would have helped a lot if I had known some of the historical background about the Russian revolution, but since I don't the story seemed very fragmented.
Now for the most part the acting is fine, but I loved seeing Alec Guiness in his small, albeit important role the most. Overall I can see why people like this movie, but as much as I can appreciate it, the score bugged me cause it was too repetitive, the movie was too long and I will be fine to never see it again.
