Review of Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing (2006) by Alden F — 29 Aug 2007
A solid entry in the documentary genre, while far from unbiased, presents a subject in a very real and ultimately affecting fashion. . .succeeded in making an unabashed hater of country music listen to (and actually enjoy) an hour and a half of new country.
a forceful reminder that voices of dissent in the midst of seemingly overwhelming consensus are to be celebrated and lauded, not criticised and censored.
