Review of Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing (2006) by Tanya P — 30 Apr 2009
It must of been a few weeks after the infamous comment by Natalie Maines was reported by The Guardian that I came to know about it. For the life of me I can't understand the fuss America made about it.
It was just Maines view and it wasn't like she said she wanted to assassinate George W Bush or anything. This film does a good job at showing 'idiot America'. I mean I don't think the people who were protesting outside their show knew how stupid they looked to the rest of the world.
Thank God! For people like Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison to prove to the rest of the world that not all Americans are dumb idoits. This is a really good documentary and it shows what goes on behind the scenes in the Chicks lives.
It made me even consider getting a dvd of the girls in concert since they look pretty good live. The Dixie Chicks are awesome and I will never stop being fan of the band.
