Review of Divertimento (2000) by Roger W — 20 Dec 2005
Excellent portrayal of the ugliness within, not only the characters in the movie, but the real people who were involved in the making of the movie.
Artful use of meaningless scenes, pretentious and pathetic dialogue to waste the viewer's time and inspire both intense and prolonged boredom.
A master piece that almost subliminally captures lust, hate and many of the evil qualities that which makes evil painters/models and their spouses what they are.
Bravo! I've always wondered what those dirty old bastards think when they make their paintings. Now thanks to Jacques Rivette, I've gained invaluable insights into the dynamics with which sluts and perverted old men get together and aid each other in their quest to find meaning in artistic expression.
Definitely deserves a high rating. Why not 10/10? Well, unlike all the idiotic critics who loved the movie, I don't think this movie deserves the compliment of being as evil a movie as the dark side of the human race has to offer to the world.
Angry at me because you were attracted to my high rating of the movie but were disappointed to find such scathing and yet deadly accurate criticism? He he he, Ha ha ha ha, please accept my apologies for my facetiousness. After seeing this piece of shit trying so hard to be something it is not, I just cannot help myself. Please, you must understand . . .
