Review of Disgrace (2008) by Erik P — 30 Apr 2010
Delusional stories lacking context apparently can't be rescued by excellent acting. Critical love for this film, based almost entirely on the performances, completely ignores that the story is a disgrace.
Blame it on the director, blame it on Malkovich's ego, blame it on the book it's based upon, blame whatever you like, the film still fails. This is why critics are so often criticized. They simply get lost in an artistic aspect of a film and base their review on that alone.
