Review of Disgrace (2008) by Geoff C — 22 Oct 2010
I guess I had to expect that a film called "Disgrace" wasn't going to be a charm-filled ride of roses and rainbows. John Malkovich, who has made a very successful career out of playing anti-social, unlikeable, loners has another to add to the list.
Although the story content is harsh at times and overall very dank and sombre, the performances are interesting and complex. The ending seems disjointed and incomplete. I felt a little ripped off, as I was hopeful for a better resolution after sitting through so much anguish and uncertainty.
