I have a new least favorite genre; the 50s era coming of age movie. american graffiti, stand by me, hated HATED hated them all. there is something anti-realist about these movies. perhaps ive been spoiled by the actual realism of cassavettes or early scorsese to actually find these films convincing or compelling.
however, the awesomest thing about this movie is that the diner they meet in is actually the bendix diner in paramus, nj. go NJ!
