Review of Diner (1982) by Tanvir M — 30 Jan 2013
The story of a group of friends in the days previous one of their marriages, as they share their fears of growing old in Baltimore in 1959. Levinson's film is an intimate sight on masculine fears and vulnerabilities mixed well into a nostalgic and conventionally romanticised portrait of the America of diners and dance halls in the late fifties.
