I really admired the production of this film - the use of colour, the makeup, the costume design, the cinematography, the sound mixing, etc... everything came together so nicely to make us delve into this whole other comic book universe.

It's definitely a technical marvel to behold, but unfortunately that's all it is. A boring, predictable story and lousy, transparent comic book characters offset all those positives. Al Pacino, though, wow.

He delivers a superlative performance as Big Boy Caprice, totally disappearing behind all that makeup and really inhabiting the character magnificently. He simply steals the show every time he's on screen; one of his very best pieces of acting, IMHO.

Wish I could have gotten into this one more, but it is what it is: a disappointment.
