Review of Dick Tracy (1990) by Eber N — 10 Jul 2016
Without any embarrassment I confess that I have very fond of this movie and you have offended me with these words to define it: vulgar, mediocre ... and shit, if anyone has noticed this is the best adaptation of a comic never respected on the big screen, when there were no super "Sin City" and "300".
I love their merchandising, its gallery of villains, respect for the work of Chester Gould, photography of Vittorio Storaro ( "Apocalypse Now"), sets of Richard Sylbert ( "Chinatown"), costumes by Milena Canonero ( "The Clockwork orange ") and the preferred Danny Elfman (along with some good songs Madonna) everything is fine music of my composer achieved, the movie was intended to be a revolution, but ended up being a blockbuster like any other because at that time the public a dark and gothic film was expected as the Tim Burton's Batman and full of adventures like Indiana Jones, but I'm glad to win these three Academy Awards (Best Makeup, Best Art Direction and Best Original Song "Sooner or Later" ). I hope that over time people has repented, recognize that it is a great movie and is claimed as a cult classic like the Mike Hodges's Flash Gordon.
