Review of Devil's Rain (2009) by Glenn B — 03 Dec 2007
Not a great (or even really a good) movie, this is a big pile of guilty pleasure for me. Huge amounts of scenery are chewed, what with Borgnine and Shatner sometimes sharing scenes (and Borgnine sometimes sporting horns!) in a very-nearly-incomprehensible 'really, no really! Satanic' movie (Church of Satan bigwig Anton LaVey was 'advisor' and has a small role).
Even though it is ridiculous, there is something creepy about the empty landscapes and tweety, hooty score. Plus you can't lose with an "unforgettable climax" involving the bulk of the cast melting into pinky-orange and green sherbet.
This ruined Robert Fuest's career and began John Travolta's. Ewww.
