Review of Detroit (2017) by Christopher G — 08 Aug 2017
Another taut film from Kathryn Bigelow that attempts to piece together the events of the Algiers Motel raid in Detroit in 1967 amidst race riots. I'm not sure how eager I'd be to watch it again, because the subject really shines a light on some of the worst parts of humanity.
I don't think it'll have the legs of The Hurt Locker or Zero Dark Thirty, but it's still an example of how Kathryn Bigelow is one of the best filmmakers we have today.
