Review of Detroit (2017) by Dale P — 15 Sep 2018
1. Too long, but even so, a good movie. ....but.
2. Factually sketchy.
3. Slanted perspective designed to create sympathy for violent solutions, when they are never the answer, as they were not in this situation. No one benefitted, everyone lost. History shows that in this case the black community lost the most.
Prior to the riots, Blacks in Detriot actually had the greatest wage parity with whites in history. Approximately 95% - post riots that all changed dramatically. None of that is addressed-typical activist "Documovie"-all feel no fact. More nuance and a bigger "picture" would have improved this movie.
