It was shot fantastically and the acting was great. As a Detroiter I grew up there in the 80s and 90s The Movie, I didn't love it or hate it. However, I cringe every time I hear negroes singing in movies.
Its become such a tired trope. " oh lawd help us. What eva is wees gons do" The black men lust after the white women trope was there. Aside from the violence and apparent racism through out the movie I don't really see its purpose especially since it didn't highlight any other aspects of Detroit.
