Review of Detroit (2017) by Matthew P — 18 Aug 2017

I knew going in that parts of this movie would be difficult to watch... and I was correct. The film delivers scenes that are as disturbing as they are necessary. As a native Detroiter my heart ached as I watched the history that explained the suffering I witnessed living in or around the city througout my adolescence and twenties.

This movie is so relevant to everything unfolding on a national and global scale. The story is powerful, the images are striking and the performances are exceptional. Highly recommend!
