Review of Detour (1992) by Hunter D — 24 Jul 2011
An excellent "poverty row" film noir from the great Edgar G. Ulmer with classic themes of mistaken identity and post-war paranoia. Tom Neal sells it as a guy who thinks the world is out to get him, and just when you think he's a paranoid loon, it turns out the world is more ruthless than you think.
DETOUR is a great example of low budget filmmaking from a bygone Hollywood era, a noir you may not have heard of that's well worth seeing.
