Review of Dersu Uzala (1961) by F?Rat B — 27 Oct 2007
Drama of an indigenous pathfinder following traditional ways in a (forced) relatively modern society. Dersu, who at first seems to be outcast, is infact perfectly in balance with his environment and is able to satisfy all his needs, which are quite few, food and water and shelter from cold; which the modern world in all its glory is unable to comprehend.
..Stunning visuals, good storytelling...
