Tries too hard, and fails. Miserably. You really want to like it for all the overwhelming wierdness, but Delicatessen refuses to be liked. Imagine Eraserhead without the annoying sounds. (I guess the filmmakers forgot that Eraserhead was obnoxious too, and worse, it was nothing without the annoying sounds).
Reviewers and "If you liked [insert cool movies here], you'll love this!" programs have utterly betrayed you on this one...it's an hour and thirty-seven minutes of your life you will never get back.
