Review of Deepwater Horizon (2016) by Raisa R — 29 Oct 2016
Deepwater Horizon is a very good movie in portraying the story of the disastrous oil spill in 2010. Despite the great action sequence, the movie is definitely a but exaggerated in some scenes by trying to make it another heroic movie rather than focusing on the actual event.
The movie heightens the tension of the event by going through some of the reasons for the blast and the events during it. It does set the tone to an extent and has very powerful scenes that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Especially in the beginning, it does become angering about how specific people in Deepwater Horizon didn't care for the safety of the people. This part truly gets you thinking about not just oil companies by many industries who try to be cheap that could risk people's lives.
This plot line was well done and captured the anger that audiences should feel. The only problem that I had with it is that it tried to be too heroic and sometimes Wahlberg's performance was off when it came to his accent.
Overall, it is a good flick that people should definitely check out.
