A part of me still has an issue with Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg mining such recent events for "disaster" films when those affected are still very much with us (and suspect "Patriot Day" will offend even more on that count), but on the other hand I like how the film - even though it exists in part because it can blow stuff up good - puts the focus on the people who were killed.

I always thought that the understandable focus on the environmental disaster that emanated afterwards for months really gave short shrift to the fact that over a dozen people were killed. This provides some balance to that historical record.
