Characters killed as often by incompetence as the monster? Poorly developed romantic couples who still aren't on first-name terms? A beasty that acts more like it has a score to settle than anything else? Smells like late 80s creature feature to me! Though the characters are rubbish and the action not very compelling, not to mention the agonizingly mawkish tone the score and directing sometimes take, there are some pretty fun practical effects.
