Review of Deck the Halls (2006) by Dave C — 25 Dec 2007
Matthew Broderick really needs to find something to jump start his career again. I keep thinking that he can't be as bad as he seems to be, but when he keeps choosing films like these, he does nothing to help change that perception.
Deck The Halls could have been a good premise, but this is one of those films that feels like it's not even trying. There's no magic, no chemistry, and the back and forth bickering between Devito and Broderick is almost painful at points.
Movies like this are nothing more then an attempt at a quick cash grab, and the fact that the characters don't even seem to care about their performances makes that reality even more shameless.
My advice: skip this film.
