Death Wish doesn't seem to really know what it's trying to say. It sends mixed messages about violence and vigilante justice and never really lands anywhere. Yet even with a predictable plot and Bruce Willis phoning it in, this movie still manages to be engaging.
Disturbing. But engaging.
