You can tell why the tomatometer is saying this is a bad movie. If you say that this movie has its weaknesses in terms of pacing or dialogue, I agree. But that is about it. Otherwise it is a brutal hommage to the original story very well executed. The violence is unapologetic and at nonpoint you sit there wondering why the main protagonist is doing what he is doing. In this politically dividided climate in which the radical left owns hollywood critics there is no wondering about the low average rating of 17%.
74% audience squore tells you that people find this movie, its story and its characters very entertaining.
Glad I watched it and hope there will be a sequel.
