Review of Death on the Nile (2022) by Royalguy07 — 21 Feb 2022
Decent murder mystery, Branagh does well performing and directing the mystery aspect of the plot. Nicely setting up multiple possibilities and red herrings. The intro and backstory on Poirot's love life and loss fell very flat for me and unnecessary to the movie.
Some truly awful, awful green screen work, I don't understand how they can't figure this out it may have been worse than it was in Murder on the Orient Express. Some acting duds and Studs throughout the performances.
Duds: Gal Gadot (acting stock falling sharply), Russell Brand (Maybe not his fault, was a near nothing role for such a charismatic actor), Letitia Wright (stale and wooden delivery). Studs: Branagh (committing to the role fully), Armie Hammer, and the true breakout Emma Mackey (I won't compare her to Margot Robbie because she asked).
