Review of Death of a Salesman (1985) by Victor C — 27 Jun 2009
A powerful adaptation of the famous Arthur Miller play. Hoffman won an Emmy for his stirring portrayal of Willy Loman, the aging salesman who realizes he's past his prime and tries to come to grips with the life he's wasted and the family he's neglected.
Reid also turns in a fine performance as his long-suffering wife. John Malkovich and Stephan Lang also star as the Willy's sons who have bought into his version of the American Dream. a very moving adaptation.
