Certainly has a nice style to it, plus Willem Dafoe delivered a great performance as Ryuk, but everything else feels flat due to a weak script and lack of understanding of what made the original source so special.
"Death Note" is a poorly made American version of the manga that doesn't utilize its source to the fullest. It's cheesy, unintelligent, and, worst of all, too American.
