This review contains spoilers. Bad as a movie, even worse as an adaptation. Except for the first name of the characters, and the Death Note itself, nothing else connects the movie with the manga/anime.
The way Light was represented was awful. The development of the plot was bad. Light controlled Watari using just Watari as his name? Ryuk chose Light cause... He's not interesting, he doesn't have a motivation, he just reacts to everything! To a notebook falling from the sky, to a bullying situation, etc.
