Review of Death Note (2017) by Ryan K — 20 Sep 2017
A poor adaptation of a truly captivating anime. Death Note could have been a great live action movie. But this film lacks characters, style and intrigue that makes Death Note what it is. This film relishes in bloody, gorey Final Destination deaths that destroy the purpose of the film to make it violent for no reason.
This also is a 40 million dollar film that looks like a direct to tv movie. Light is a dumbass who makes rash and stupid decisions and Nat Wolf is terrible in the role. Most of the actors are bad. This movie is awful and I just say go watch the anime.
This is a embarrassingly sad and poor adaptation of one of my favorite shows.
