If you like the anime, then you'll LOVE not watching this. Leave it to American tv to ruin a good story by turning the intelligent main character with his own reasons for wanting to kill into a high school kid that just wants to get with the hot cheerleader- who is a character that is ridiculously unnecessary. Light is a little wimp that doesn't have any sensical reason for what he's doing, and L's character is doesn't have the personality and quirkiness required to make their game of cat and mouse believable or interesting.
Netflix is trying to cater to a market it just doesn't understand.
