Review of Death Note (2017) by Nico V — 25 Aug 2017
It was a very pretty movie, but plot-wise, it was not the best at all. I understand adapting an entire anime into 90 minutes is challenging, but some of the main things that should be expected with this title were missing.
The anime was primarily about an intellectual battle of wits, and only a glimmer of that made it's way into the movie. The multiple plots could have been condensed and even changed to a degree as long as the feel of the anime remained, but that failed to happen.
