Review of Death at a Funeral (2007) by Amber K — 12 Aug 2010
Death at a Funeral (2007) is wonderfully brilliant. This dark comedy is filled with British wit and a bit of dry humor. British comedy at its best. Daniel (Matthew MacFadyen) wants nothing more than to mourn his father is peace but an array of ?topsy-turvy? events makes his father?s funeral a day that no one will soon forget.
Daniel is forced to deal with his dysfunctional family as they gather for the funeral. Soon Daniel finds that he has to deal with financial burdens, blackmail, and his cousin?s naked boyfriend on the roof.
The film is very well written with stellar performances from the entire cast. This is true a hilarious British comedy and is worth watching. Don't waste your time on the 2010 U.S. remake. Watch the 2007 version and you are sure to get the best out of your film watching experience.
