Serves to effectively fill in the history of the USG Ishimura and its crew members before the arrival of the USG Kellion, which continues into EA Redwood's Dead Space.

I would recommend playing the game first then watching this, and finally reading the comic series (which documents the initial 'Corruption' incident) as the game is much more effective this way.
