Review of Dead Poets Society (1989) by Charlotta L — 13 Jul 2010
"I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life. To put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived.".
Welton welcomes a new english teacher John Keating(Williams) that inspire his students to live life. Sieze the day. Become their own person. He incourages them to re-open The Dead Poets Society, a way for them to find themselves and learn how to love poetry.
Neil Perry, Charlie Dalton, Todd Anderson, Knox Overstreet, Steven Meeks, Gerard Pitts and even Richard Cameron all weasel themselves into your hearts with the brilliant poetry of famous dead poets and wicked charms. The cast interacts with eachother beautifully and I love every single character. The plot is captivating, inspiring and sad. It makes you think, makes you want to sieze the day...It made me cry. The end made me cry like a baby, tears streamed down my cheeks and I was gasping for breath. that's just how sad it was and that also proves what a brilliant movie it is. Because it grabs your attention and doesn't let go even after the credits has rolled.
Funny, Sad, Moving, Tragic, Unforgattable Brilliance.
Oh Captain, My Captain!
