Peter Weir is physically incapable of making a bad movie, it seems. This isn't his best - it's just too poncy and aimless and slow in parts - but it's got some great moments and the ending backs a punch.
This is probably where Mork first dipped his toe into those inspirational-cum-maudlin waters that led to his decline in favour. But he's nicely balanced here, and used sparingly. It's all about these ivy league boys, debunking the tract that those pompous schools are just about rugby and buggery.
