Review of Dead Man Walking (1995) by Yz S — 07 Oct 2010
Polemic superbly disguised as narrative. Intensely compelling and confronting depiction of what humankind are capable of doing to (and thankfully sometimes for) each other. Mr & Mrs Robbins and Mr Penn well-deserved their Oscar noms.
This is flawless on literally every level and of course one of those great, necessary films that are very difficult to watch even just one time. I just wish there were more films out there this good - and I don't just use that word "good" to denote any objective measure of quality.
