Review of Dead Like Me: Life After Death (2009) by William M — 23 Oct 2009
Hmm. Although the series only lasted 2 seasons, it was nice to see the movie as an ending to the series. Although the main reaper of Rube was gone, his departure was explained well to me. And Daisy's character was recast as likely the original person of Laura Harris was likely busy doing something else, as she was currently in "Defying Gravity" on tv. I guess I miss her a little. And yeah, I miss Rube's character also in his mannerisms. But then, by demolishing "Der Waffle Haus" and bringing the meetings into a new establishment, it allows for the introduction of a new main reaper. And as for Britt McKillip, the character of Reggie, she's growing up into a lovely young lady.
As for the story, George finally gets to meet and interact with her sister which is kind of nice as if you pay attention, you see that that is something that has haunted Reggie for the 5 years since George died. She was always in George's footsteps and after George died, it was like she wasn't allowed to talk about George anymore as their mother was the one that was forever grieving and feeling the pain. Having George and Reggie allowed to interact allowed them both to say their good-byes and allows Reggie the inspiration to break free and live her own life.
I would say it was a good movie and there are always moments that will make you laugh, like with Roxy's anger management and how they try to get rid of Cameron, the new reaper. :) hehehe. How do you kill a dead man? Or maybe how do you get rid of a dead man who is already dead? :) And Callum Blue's character of Mason...hahaha. He's always a riot. Well, if you watch the movie, I hope you enjoy it.
