Review of Dead Like Me: Life After Death (2009) by Dani S — 20 Dec 2010
The movie of the series we all loved so much. Through out the series we watched as the characters started out as mere husks of personalities and flourished into well rounded characters that remained true to their core.
However in the movie we see a horrifying reversion into an unlikeable cast. With one main loveable character seemingly fallen through a plot hole, and not mourned in the least bit by the other cast. Another had to be replaced with a far less talented actress whose portrayal of "Daisy" was physically painful to watch.
As she had been reverted back to her first episode appearence with no traces of the countless experiences she had piled up and built on her character. Strict rules within the series are cast aside for the pure sake of rushing the film to a disappointing and empty ending.
"can't tell family what happened to you" used to cause loss of memory, however the produces of this film likely wanted to speed things up without any depth involved and tossed this core element of the series out the window for the movie.
If you enjoyed the series, do not see this film, it is a bastardized and mutilated version of it's more successful tv show. Keep it pure.
