This is a fun little movie. its made for the horror fan by the horror fan. its obviously a spoof of the zombie movie genre in general while also making it somewhat original while still paying homage to classics.

its far from perfect, but its incredibly enjoyable and very funny to say the least. first of all, I must comment on the "narrator", who also plays a small part in the movie itself. his role is kinda in the same vein as the jonathan richman from There's Something About Mary, where he is narrating/singing the story through music, which was hilarious.

the part where his band is mimicking a rap group and the zombies are doing the Thriller dance is priceless. also, the acting is pretty decent as well, with oz perkins, ever carradine, erik palladino, and jeffrey dean morgan leading.

there's even small parts by ever's uncle david carradine and a hilarious diedrich bader. the only actor I had a problem with was mark kelly, who played a bumbling deputy. he was just annoying.

the story of the movie itself is different than a normal zombie movie too, where it deals with people's spirits being possessed by a demon through a small wooden box. in fact, they aren't really zombies at all, because they can talk and communicate normally, but the standard rules of death still apply where you must take off their head.

the gore effects were great as well. all in all, this is a great original movie for the horror fan, and I know it will please the most diehard horror buffs.
