Review of Dead & Breakfast (2004) by Kevin R — 13 Sep 2012
Fewer brain cells make you easier to tolerate.
A group of friends traveling across the country get lost and have to stop for the night at a bed and breakfast. One of the hosts at the bed and breakfast is murdered that night and the police ask the kids to stay in town as potential suspects. As the police investigate, more people die. Will the kids ever get out of the town or will they be the next victims or the murderer?
"It's not like this is going to be your only wedding.".
Matthew Leutwyler, director of Road Kill, The Space Between Us, Answers to Nothing, and the upcoming Uncanny, delivers Dead and Breakfast. The storyline for this picture is fairly standard but delivered with a solid twist of comedy sprinkled throughout the film. The dialogue is very well written and the kill scenes are better than average. The cast delivers fairly good performances and includes Jeremy Sisto, Erik Palladino, Bianca Lawson, and David Carradine.
"He's so drunk he won't be able to get it up anyway.".
I caught this film while flicking through the channels and decided to give it a shot based on its premise. I was pleasantly surprised by the great interactions between the characters and witty dialogue. I found the film fairly funny and definitely above average for the genre. I do recommend giving this film a shot.
"Don't let me catch you with your dick in my bush again.".
