You can definitely see the influence of George Lucas' American Graffiti on Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused. Its a movie about the aimless wanderings of teenagers in the 70's, smoking pot, drinking, and cruising on the last day of school.

Its almost a time capsule into another world, as most of this is based off of Richard Linklater's childhood growing up. Some of the scenes are funny, but its mostly a nostalgia fest to older times.
