Review of Day of the Woman (1978) by Syed R — 12 Oct 2012
Many people find this film offensive and stupid, but I think it's a great film about a woman who is raped multiple times, humiliated, and nearly killed. After the attack has essentially destroyed her, she decides to get revenge against her attackers one by one.
I think the acting is great, especially for actress Camille Keaton who gives her character a great deal of depth, especially when she goes to a church to ask God for forgiveness for what she is about to do to her attackers.
This film is brutal, unpleasant, and horrifying, but it is a powerful revenge film that gripped me from start to finish. It is a very divisive film, though, so be careful if you try to watch it.
