Review of David and Bathsheba (1951) by Erik W — 01 Jul 2009
A fairly good movie although a bit slow in some parts. Gregory Peck was definately not at his best in this film. I personally would have chosen Laurence Olivier for the role of King David because it just seemed to me that would have been perfect for him.
Leon Shamroy does well with the cinematography because Cinemascope was revealed in 1953. Well scored by Alfred Newman.
