Review of Daughters of Darkness (1971) by Tico P — 15 Jun 2007
This is a very rare, if not art house lesbian vampire film. The story takes place in Belgium 1971. Delphine Seyring is Elizabeth Bathory, an ageless vampire. Residing a seaside hotel she seduces a young couple on their honeymoon.
This film could be viewed as an a Gothic fairy tale for full grown adults. The imagery is incredible as the music score. Its publicity release slogan gave it four words: Vampirism, lesbianism, homosexuality and sadism.
Ripped off later on by Tony Scott's The Hunger. Daughters is well worth a watch for lovers of lesbian vampires and art house films.
