Review of Dark Places (2015) by Marina A — 11 Aug 2015
The allure of another Gillian Flynn adaptation and a reunion between Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult was just too good to pass up. The movie itself is interesting and features a now familiar Flynn penchant for troubled female protagonists but the story, as compelling as the mystery is, comes across as a bit of a jumbled mess and too many little tidbits are thrown in and never fully explored.
Definitely interesting and well performed by everyone - particularly Theron, Corey Stoll and Christina Hendricks but just not that memorable.
