Review of Dark Phoenix (2019) by Shajac19 — 10 Jun 2019

This movie is boring at its best and hard to watch at its worst. There is only one kinda fun action scene in the third act but it quickly becomes boring again. There's no feeling of real stakes and I blame the villains because, despite all the exposition thrown at the audience, their plan is not well explained and you are given little sense of how powerful they are or how scared you should be.

Character motivations are slim or nonexistent and the cast seems entirely checked out. Overall, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you go see something else. Dark Phoenix is not the worst X-men movie but its definitely bottom 3 and should be avoided at all costs.
