I actually thought it was okay. Sure, there was some weird direction and weird pacing, but for the first time, these characters felt and moved and behaved like the xmen I grew up with in cartoons and several comics.
Oh, and of course it would have been much better without that horrible line about "xwomen", that was total cringe for me (a woman).
